How to Flatten Rolled Prints for Framing

The prints come rolled in a cardboard tube. Before framing, follow these steps to achieve a smooth, frame-ready print:

1. Unroll the Print Gently: Carefully unroll the print on a clean, flat surface. Avoid using too much force to prevent creases or damage.

2. Weigh Down the Corners: Place small, heavy objects like books or paperweights on each corner of the print. Ensure the weights do not damage the print by covering them with a soft cloth or tissue paper.

3. Use Archival Tissue: For added protection, place a sheet of archival tissue paper over the print before applying weights. This helps to prevent any potential damage or marks.

4. Leave it to Flatten: Allow the print to sit under the weights for at least 24 to 48 hours. The longer you leave it, the flatter it will become.

5. Final Touches: Once the print is flat, handle it carefully when removing the weights. If it’s not completely flat, repeat the process.
